Company-specific Courses

Are you looking for a course customised specifically to your workplace? With a company-specific training course from Human House, you and your organisation can design a process targeted precisely to your needs, challenges, and day-to-day issues. By focusing on examples and tasks relevant to your workplace, we can strengthen the theoretical application and, not least, incorporate your company’s leadership principles, internal processes and IT systems.

Course certificate

Physical or online

High degree of flexibility

Take a course with your colleagues and strengthen the workplace wellbeing

When several employees acquire the same knowledge at the same time, it makes it easier to foster a thriving work culture, and the motivation to make a real difference is often higher when teams are inspired together. Another clear advantage is that you can choose the time and location that best suit your needs. It is usually also more cost-effective to train all employees together, rather than sending a large group on open courses.

Customised training

We shape each course to your organisation’s needs

When designing your specific training course, we focus on the following three key elements: knowledge, requirements and systems, and scope and impact.

Knowledge

What topics do you and your organisation wish to gain more insight into?

Requirements and systems

Are there any legal requirements, company policies, procedures or IT systems that must be integrated?

Scope and impact

Which parts of the organisation should be involved? Should top management and middle managers participate actively in the implementation? How advanced should the training be in terms of learning objectives?

Specialists in training courses on management and occupational safety and health

Each year, Human House delivers more than 100 customised training programmes, courses, lectures, and workshops – all designed to meet the specific needs of each workplace. Sometimes we facilitate full training days; other times, we are part of a larger context, such as an internal conference. This means we are experts in facilitating and delivering learning experiences that truly matter in your organisation.

Below you will find examples of different company-specific courses we offer.

Chemical risk assessment and instruction

Our course on chemical risk assessment and instruction focuses on ensuring safety and protection regarding chemical risks in everyday workplace activities.

This course is hands-on and covers:

  • Chemical workplace assessments and regulations
  • Practical experience in chemical risk assessment of work processes
  • Experience in delivering chemical instruction.

You will learn how to apply and integrate the current rules on chemicals from the Danish Working Environment Authority. During the course, we provide practical methods for conducting chemical risk assessments and comprehensive instruction on chemical handling. We will cover requirements for instruction – who is responsible for preparing and delivering it, who needs to receive it, when it should be repeated, and what it should include. Examples are provided on how chemical instruction can be structured with the involvement of both employees and the safety and health organisation.

This course is relevant for any company that works with chemicals in the workplace, for example, construction, civil engineering, workshops, manufacturing, research, utilities, life sciences, cleaning, offices, facility services, procurement, quality, environment, sustainability, and more.

Practical information

The course is offered both online and with physical attendance.

Ergonomics and behaviour

Musculoskeletal pain is the second most common occupational health challenge in Denmark. Furthermore, Danish society is increasingly divided into an “A team” and a “B team” regarding health. Despite organisations often being reluctant to discuss health, they nonetheless pay the price through sickness absence and reduced work capacity on a daily basis. This is the backdrop for our ergonomics and behaviour training course.

The aim of the course is to strengthen your knowledge of ergonomics and provide practical tools to address the topic within your organisation. The training covers both professional theory, a series of case studies, and discussion of relevant scenarios from your own workplace.

The course focuses on four main areas:

  • Working postures – best practice for everyday challenges
  • The impact of physical surroundings on the body, and how the organisational context shapes potential solutions
  • Habits, behaviour, and culture – what drives the way we act?
  • Are we fit to perform our daily work, and how do we discuss this within the organisation?
Practical information

The course is available both online and as classroom teaching, and can be held at one of our locations or at yours.

Harassment and bullying

The leader as a stress navigator

The course on the leader as stress navigator is a full-day internal workshop focusing on the leader’s role in relation to stress. We explore not only the pressures and sources of stress faced by leaders themselves, but also what is required to ensure the long-term wellbeing of both themselves and their teams.

Even experienced managers often find it challenging to navigate situations involving workplace stress – both their own and that of their employees. It can feel vulnerable and taboo to admit to feeling stressed, since the idea of the “good leader” is often tied to strength, resilience, and surplus capacity. Ironically, research shows that many Danish leaders do, in fact, experience distress and stress on a daily basis.

Impact on the individual, team, and organisation

When employee stress is not prevented and managed properly, it has serious consequences for the individual, the team, and the organisation as a whole. But exactly what is the leader’s role in preventing and handling real cases of stress?

This workshop helps to define important guidelines, empowering you to avoid frustration, conflict, reduced job satisfaction, lost motivation, inefficiency, and reduced quality – all common consequences of stress within the team. You will learn how to prevent and respond to both your own and your employees’ stress.

The workshop is primarily targeted at leaders with staff responsibility and alternates between psychological input, introduction of practical and real-world tools, training, and discussion.

Practical information

The course lasts 1 day and can be held at one of our locations or at yours.

Toolbox

Toolbox is a training course aimed at foremen and site managers in construction and civil engineering who want to communicate for improved wellbeing and fewer accidents.

In the toolbox course, you don’t just add new tools to your toolkit – you also learn how to apply them to improve the working environment on site. Involving your staff in daily safety efforts means benefitting from their experience and knowledge.

Foremen and project managers in construction carry significant responsibility for their teams, planning and communicating to ensure a safe and productive working environment. This is a crucial role in an industry challenged by accidents and wear and tear. Through effective communication and staff engagement in daily planning, you can boost overall wellbeing and prevent accidents.

Course structure

Toolbox is not just about being introduced to a range of tools – you must also put them into practice. Between each session, you will have a 14-day assignment encouraging you to use the new tools you have learned. This means you can test them directly with your own team onsite.

Each session focuses on a main theme to prepare you to improve communication and safety planning.

Day 1: Responsibility, communication, and conflict management
Day 2: Planning, safety, and accidents
Day 3: Leadership and collaboration
Day 4: Occupational diseases and prevention
Day 5: Health and communication across cultures and languages

Get your message across: Communication, presence, and core

Communication can be complex; communicating clearly, confidently, and effectively does not necessarily come naturally to everyone. When communication – whether face-to-face or online – is poorly delivered, it can negatively impact message delivery and sender/receiver relationships, at times even causing lasting damage. A solid foundation for good workplace environment work is collaboration and clear, value-creating communication. Through clarity in communication, you help establish shared goals and understanding.

Getting your message across – communication, presence and core in an online and physical world is intended for leaders, safety and health representatives, and others who need to collaborate on working environment initiatives and communicate messages to a wide audience – ranging from working environment groups to the entire organisation and both internal and external parties.

Teaching is delivered by organisational psychologist Jesper Bardrum, who has in-depth experience in communication techniques, and voice and performance coach Rikke Cederqvist Boisen, who brings many years of experience in voice training, body language, and performance.

The course focuses on five areas:
  • Personal appearance: Psychological and physiological insight into how you present yourself, especially when communicating online, ensuring your message is effectively delivered.
  • Communication techniques: Strategies to boost your impact and clarity.
  • Behavioural understanding: Insights into both your own and others’ communication and work behaviours, with an emphasis on workplace communication culture.
  • Voice and performance training: Work with your body language in both physical and digital settings, gaining tools for a strong, impactful voice and presence, including speaking pace, vocal tone, and dynamics.
  • Premises of face-to-face and online communication: Personal presence, codes of conduct, prepared environments (time, place, setting, and any technical considerations).
  • Types of communication (online and in-person): One-to-one meetings, departmental and committee meetings, teaching, webinars with multiple participants.
Method and content

The course alternates between presentations, practical exercises, masterclasses, and presentations, all interspersed with short breaks.

Below, voice and performance coach Rikke Cederqvist Boisen, whom you’ll meet at this course, explains more about the benefits of voice training and body language awareness.

The video is currently only available in Danish.

Accident prevention

Accidents are always unfortunate and can occur in many different forms – from a missing handrail on site or chemical spills in the lab, to awkward patient lifts or stilettos on slippery stairs. Although accidents often look very different, they usually share certain features that can be recognised – and prevented. A work accident leading to more than 30 days of absence is costly, accounting for lost production, temporary staff, and potential fines from the Danish Working Environment Authority.

Based on your organisation’s needs, this course provides tools for reducing and preventing accidents in your workplace. Drawing on insights from both public and private organisations, we present effective approaches to flattening the accident curve. How can you adjust your company’s attitude towards accidents, and what tools are needed to break the trend?

The course combines theory, a series of case studies, and discussion of your own workplace scenarios.

The course covers:
  • Principles of prevention, including the prevention ladder and risk assessment
  • Comprehensive working environment screening – identifying challenges, analysing, and creating action plans using a 360-degree prevention approach
  • Methods and tools for preventing occupational accidents
  • Introduction to the Vision Zero concept, which is based on prevention as the foundation for greatly reducing the number of workplace accidents. Prevention should be part of your business strategy, and building a strong prevention culture requires active top management involvement.
Practical information

The course lasts 1 day and can be held at one of our locations or at yours.
